Celebrate our Flag’s 122nd ‘birthday’! |
All Australians are encouraged to make a special effort to fly or display our flag in the lead-up to its 122nd ‘birthday’ on September 3. However because in 2023 Australian National Flag Day falls on Father’s Day, some of the special events are being held before or afterwards. BRISBANE THUR AUG 31 – 9AM, KING GEORGE SQUARE: The Lord Mayor and City Council will again host the traditional Flag Day ceremony in front of Brisbane City Hall, with a flag raising by members of the Australian Defence Force. This free event is open to everyone. (Note that special flag ceremonies will be held on THURSDAY AUG 31 at Springwood Road State School and FRIDAY SEPT 8 at Ipswich Central State School.) |
